This page explains how to have your data removed from Mentioned. It is the address we give Meta, Apple and Google as our data deletion instructions URL.
1. How to delete your data
Mentioned doesn't have an in-app delete button yet, so for now we handle deletions by email. Write to [email protected] from the email address on your account, with the subject line "Delete my account". We will confirm within a few days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
If you signed up with Facebook, Apple or Google and no longer have access to that account, tell us which provider you used and we will find another way to verify you.
2. What gets deleted
- Your account, name and email address
- Every post and link you shared
- Every entity we extracted from them, and every map pin
- Your lists and preferences
- The account identifier we received from Facebook, Apple or Google when you signed in
Copies in our routine encrypted backups are overwritten within about 30 days and are never restored into the live service for a deleted account.
3. Revoking access at the source
Deleting your Mentioned account does not automatically revoke Mentioned's permission on the platform you signed in with. To cut that connection as well:
- Facebook: Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites → Mentioned → Remove
- Instagram: Settings → Website Permissions → Apps and Websites
- Apple: Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple → Mentioned → Stop using Apple ID
- Google: myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party apps with account access
Revoking access stops new data reaching us. It does not delete what we already hold — email us for that.
